RKS Choir
A great day for all LODONIANS.
After much anticipation and excitement the RKS Chapel was finally opened and dedicated on Saturday 29/05/2010. The chapel was opened by the Prime Minister of Fiji (an old boy of the school), Commodore Frank Bainimarama and was dedicated by the President of the Methodist Church of Fiji, Mr Ame Tugauwe. The chapel was dedicated as “I Volasiga” chapel.
There were busloads of people that flocked RKS on the day, on a rough estimate I believe there were probably 2000 to 3000 people that were in RKS on the day. They were all excited that the project that was started some 20 years ago has finally come to its completion marked by its dedication. The chapel opening also brought together the many old scholars that we have lost touch in the many years that we had left school, from all over Fiji and abroad. But one thing that was common amongst the OBs from Fiji was the change in hair style and change in their lower abs. But that was all of the past as everyone was just to excited about the day. RKS Chapel Dedication
After the “veiqaravi vakavanua” at the Kings ground, everyone made their way up to “Duguca na Sau” hill where the chapel is located for the much awaited opening and dedication service. The Prime Minister of Fiji did the honors in officially opening the chapel. Then he was taken on a brief tour of the chapel. After the tour the chapel was packed to its capacity (Most probably the only time when it will be packed to its full capacity of 1500+).

I had mentioned earlier that the chapel was dedicated as “I Volasiga” chapel, the beginning of a new dawn for RKS. No more will we have services in halls for RKS now has the place which we can call our place of worship., but lets not forget that GOD resides in our hearts.
